We are not going to be talking about nuclear proliferation, "Choose Life" t-shirts or big hair, but we ARE going to be talking with Ernest Cline (www.ernestcline.com.) Mr. Cline is the author of "Ready Player One," a new novel (and soon-to-be film) chock full of 80's pop culture references. He also owns his OWN "Back to the Future" DeLorean. How freakin' cool is that?!

The Artist (2011)
When I first heard about "The Artist" (a French-made, silent B&W movie? Really?) my first thought, I must admit, was "gimmick" - like 3D or "Smell-o-Vision." Boy-howdy, was I ever wrong!

Who is the most reviled man in the public relations / gaming worlds right now? Paul Christoforo - that's who! He is the president of a PR company which represented (until recently) the makers of The Avenger - a pretty cool Playstation controller. When an exchange of his emails with a complaining customer were posted to the site penny-acade.com last week (a VERY POPULAR gaming-themed comic and blog,) all hell broke loose.

As we gather with family and friends today, let's not forget what this day is really about - the exchange of store-bought goods usually manufactured by child labor under unsafe conditions and imported from countries ruled by oppressive regimes, thereby contributing to our country's massive trade imbalance, the continued decimation of the American manufacturing force, and the elongation of our current economic crisis.

I recently had the chance to preview a little film titled “I Melt With You.” It’s an ensemble drama featuring Rob Lowe, Jeremy Piven, Thomas Jane and Christian MacKay. This film is opening in the thick of the Holiday Movie Season - a few weekends ago at the Landmark’s Nuart in Los Angeles, this Friday, Dec 23rd at Landmark’s Lumiere in San Francisco.
